Easy way to clean your makeup brushes!

Hey everyone! Am I the only one who hates cleaning their makeup brushes? I have so many brushes that by the time I'm done cleaning every single one, my hands are all pruny and smell like baby shampoo for hours! It also takes forever to get them clean too. Especially the ones that are caked in foundation or concealer; those are the hardest to clean because you want to make sure you remove all of the product that's wormed its way in between the bristles.

For those that know me, you know that I'm a big fan of Sigma products and that I have a lot of brushes! When it comes to cleaning my brushes, I try and prep myself for doing them once a week but it seems daunting with the amount that I have and the state of my hands by the end. To solve my issue I found out that Sigma released a product that works like a charm!

It's called the Sigma Spa™ Brush Cleaning Glove and it's like the name states, a glove for cleaning your brushes. What's awesome about it is that you don't have to get your hands wet and you don't have to wash your heavy duty brushes multiple times to make sure all of the product is removed. If you look at the glove you'll see that there are nifty little sections that help you wash, rinse, refine and shape your brushes.

The Sigma Spa™ Brush Cleaning Glove provides 6 unique cleaning textures for both eye and face brushes. In the example above, you can see how easy it is to wash, refine, rinse and shape your brushes! Combined, the Sigma Spa™ Brush Cleaning Glove and Dry’n Shape thoroughly clean, dry, shape and ultimately extend the life of professional makeup brushes.

SO EXCITED!!

Hey everyone! I'm so excited it's not even funny haha! I decided to go for it and register for courses to become a professional makeup artist. This is new territory for me since what I know came from observing others in my day to day life and watching Youtube videos!

I love using my family members and friends as guinea pigs and to date they have yet to complain which I'll take as a good thing. I like experimenting and trying out looks where I was inspired; whether that was from a video on Youtube or even a post on Pinterest.

I'm a big makeup junkie and have quite a stash that just keeps expanding and with taking these classes I'll have a legit reason for owning so much makeup! With my hoarding issues aside, I need to bring my own brush sets etc for the classes. Now I want to use a good set and I was thinking of purchasing another set from Sigma Beauty. I bought the Make Me Crazy - Essential Kit a few years ago and loved it! The brushes are amazing quality, they wash really well with minimal fall out and they're really great quality without being too expensive.

What's awesome is that they currently have a promotion for 10% off for the month of March so now would be a great time to purchase a new set, my only hesitation is what color do I get? I'm leaning towards just getting the classic black set since it seems more professional, but the coral/pink and the blue kits are really cute as well. Decisions, decisions...

Until then, if you want to take advantage of Sigma Beauty's 10% off promotion, or you just want to see what products they offer (They expanded a lot so it's not just brushes now! There's eye shadows, brush cleaning tools, skin care tools and more. It's really cool and you should definitely check it out!) then check out the link below:

Purple Smoky Eye

Hey everyone! So tonight I helped out my cousin film a makeup tutorial with the camera skills of my sister! I have to say it turned out pretty well for the making of, and now it just needs to be edited and finalized. Hoping she gets a good grade on her presentation considering the amount of work she's put into it!

Here's how the look turned out...I ended up being the model!

We ended up using my Sigma Beauty brushes and one of my Coastal Scents Palettes. Turned out really nice if I do say so myself!

Sigma Beauty Haul

Hey everyone! So I recently purchased two items from Sigma Beauty. I purchased the MAXbag in Violet and the Miss Taylor Flat Top Kabuki.

Now I know that the MAXbag is supposed to be large, but I didn't know how big until I received it in the mail and OMG it's HUGE!!! It's 14 ¼ inches in length and 11 inches in height.

Sigma's description is the following: Introducing the new Sigma Beauty MAXBag! The MAXBag was especially designed to fit your entire makeup collection. It can even fit our full size complete kit with brush roll! Never leave your favorite products behind. Carry all of your beauty essentials wherever you go!

I still have yet to test it's full capacity but lets just say that I can easily put in all of my brushes, my larger palettes, skin care, face products and more! It's more like a purse than a makeup bag haha!

I really love the detailing on this bag too. It has a pillow type embossed effect and I love the shimmery purple color too! If you're looking for an ideal makeup bag for travelling then this one is perfect, and for only 20$ it's a steal! My mini ones for carrying a few things in my purse were almost 10$ so to get something even bigger that will fit basically EVERYTHING, that's just fantastic and worthwhile in my opinion. It makes for a great investment since I'm travelling more now and because I'm a pack rat. I end up packing way more than I should only because I'm afraid I'll need something and not have it...my idea is it's better to be safe than sorry; with that...everything and I mean everything (blushes, powders, liners, creams, shadows, palettes, brushes etc) come with. It turns into quite a process when I bring more cosmetics than clothes with me!

My other little investment was a retractable flat top kabuki. I was hesitant in buying it because I didn't know if I wanted a regular one or the flat top. Though the incentive for buying the regular one was because it was on sale at the time, I ended up caving in and buying the flat top because of the purple color. And yes, I know, it might not be the best and most practical way of choosing things, but even though the other one was on sale, I would prefer having the purple kabuki to match my purple brush set. Red wouldn't have matched so well!

Sigma's description for this little beauty is the following: Get some Hollywood Glamour! The Sigma Makeup retractable flat top kabuki is the easiest way to apply powder products such as blush, bronzer, foundation, and highlighter on-the-go. Practical and classy, the Hollywood Glamour collection is a must! Featuring the SigMax fiber for high definition application.

Well after getting this little kabuki in the mail, I was amazed with how soft this brush was! The packaging is really cute with the metallic purple casing and I really like how well made Sigma products are. There were no fallouts for the bristles, it came with care and cleaning instructions, was double wrapped for protection and more.

I believe I have yet to be disappointed with a purchase I've made from Sigma Beauty. They go above and beyond my expectations and I'm really loving them! Next purchase will be one of the traveling kits! I need something cute for my trip to Alberta this summer!

Anyways, back to the kabuki haha! It's a lovely little brush that's super soft to the touch and blends seamlessly. I used it for the first time at the office one night when getting ready to head out to the movies. Using it to apply mattifying powder, bronzer and blush I was amazed how all three applied. If one of them goes on sale again I believe I will be buying a second one so that I can always have one at home and to keep the other in my purse. It's an ideal size to carry around and what I love most about it is that it can be used for more than one thing. Although a neat trick is to also apply your powder to the brush, close it and apply it when needed. Great for on the go!

Let me know if you already own one of these or another type of kabuki brush! What do you use it for and is it a flat top?

My first tutorial!

Hey everyone! So I just recently posted my first tutorial. I'm excited to know what you guys think! I know off the bat that the lighting needs to be improved upon...my room is really dark even with all of the lights turned on (That's one ceiling light and three lamps!), but I'm working on it slowly but surely!

And be sure to enter my giveaway while you still can! One lucky winner will receive an OPI Shattered nail polish from the Katy Perry collection!!!!

I wanted to do a simple neutral eye tutorial that's easy to wear to work, to school or if you're just wanting something cute and natural looking. You really only need 3 eye shadows, some mascara and a good eye liner. It's quick and simple and I have it down to five minutes for my morning routine. Easy peasy!

If you're wanting to know more about the Stila Make Me Blush kit that I got for Valentine's day, check out my previous post here. I still plan on doing swatches for both lip glazes and the blush itself.

Also, for a better idea of the Make Me Up kit I purchased from Sigma Beauty, you can check out the post I created, or go directly to the Sigma Beauty site. I really love these brushes...all 12 of them! And though it was a pretty penny to spend at first, I look at it as an investment. It was worth every penny for the quality I received with these brushes. They're super soft, don't have much fallout, are amazing when applying product and they're even in a super adorable color! As previously mentioned, they come in four different colors.

Sigma Beauty Makeup Brushes

Hey everyone! I wanted to talk about makeup brushes and a brand I recently discovered and have fallen in love with!

I've recently been on the hunt for makeup brushes so that I can not only have a complete kit, but have one that will last a long time, are nice and soft, good quality and more. I had high expectations for Crown Brushes but the two sets I purchased really disappointed me.

Well, good news for that sad turn of events, I've discovered Sigma Beauty! Now a lot of you may have already heard about Sigma brushes, and what's great about them is that they're similar to MAC brushes. In more ways than one! For quality, brush shapes and more!

These brushes are really nice and soft and I have yet to hear or see anything negative about Sigma brushes! I have personal friends who have previously purchased them, after looking around the market a bit and not necessarily having the budget to buy MAC brushes or other high end brands and then fell upon Sigma. The thing is, you get the same quality if not better as the high end brands, but you're not paying the price! It's great! And on top of that, if you spend 30$ or more, they even throw in a free gift. Awesome right?

If you click on the ad above it will bring you to Sigma'swebsite where you can see the brushes and other products for yourself. I like the idea of being able to purchase individually or the option to buy sets. And another thing to look for is that there's always something on special!

Not everyone needs a full face and eye kit so it's nice that if you do want a kit, they have those options available for purchase. The prices vary, but the quality in the brushes don't! What's fun too is they have a new collection where you can choose a set and select the color you want. There's teal, pink, purple and black. These are the Make Me Up collection. They're super good and if you're looking into investing into great brushes I would definitely recommend these ones! If you look in the picture above you can see the cute colors yourself! If you want to see them bigger go here. They retail for 99$ and though that seems expensive, figure that you're getting 12 brushes and a case for them to be stored in. Excluding the case, it's about 8$ a brush which is really reasonable! And compared to buying them separately, that's saving you 73$!

Oh and just so you guys know, if you buy this kit you even get a free travel size E25 brush! Amazing yes?!

If you guys end up making a purchase at Sigma or already have, tell me about it! I want to know what you bought and why!

The brushes included in the Make Me Up Collection are the following with a description:
