February Mini Haul

Hey everyone! Here's a mini haul that I did for this month on a few items I purchased myself or received as a gift! I'm off to Walmart tomorrow so I should have a few other goodies to show you guys.

I'm also going to try and do more videos, they seem to make life simpler for me haha, aside from always figuring out what to say! Let me know what you guys think!

December Updates

Okay so I've been out of the loop for a while and here's to hoping that I can keep better on track with updating this blog!

Recently I went to Toronto for IMATS 2011. It was amazing and I even saw Koren! If you don't know who that is, he's an amazing guru on Youtube check him out here on Youtube. There were quite a few things going on, such as the demonstrations, the different company booths and more. The main things I hit up were for brushes, palettes and face powder (I finally found my NARS loose powder woohoo!)

I bought new smudging brushes and a few palettes and lip products from NYX Cosmetics. Love their products!! And the deals were amazing too. Their version of the Urban Decay Naked Palette cost me a whole $15.00 WOW! There's two rows of neutral eye shadows and one row of really pigmented and creamy lip colors. So worth it for the price! And I even managed to score one of NYX's jumbo eye pencils in Milk. I have another version of this white jumbo eye pencil but it has shimmer to it and I was looking for something that was more matte. Behold one of their representatives walking around with a stack and yoink...one lands in my stash! I think they were something like $6.00 each which really isn't expensive considering the amount of product that's in each jumbo pencil! And I love how creamy these glide on, I already own a few other colors!

For inspirations lately I've been viewing videos from a new guru I found on Youtube called BEATFACEHONEY. I'm in love with her latest tutorial which was inspired by Selena Gomez's song "Love you like a love song." It's a gorgeous look and I can't wait to try and replicate it. Possibly for Christmas?!

My first tutorial!

Hey everyone! So I just recently posted my first tutorial. I'm excited to know what you guys think! I know off the bat that the lighting needs to be improved upon...my room is really dark even with all of the lights turned on (That's one ceiling light and three lamps!), but I'm working on it slowly but surely!

And be sure to enter my giveaway while you still can! One lucky winner will receive an OPI Shattered nail polish from the Katy Perry collection!!!!

I wanted to do a simple neutral eye tutorial that's easy to wear to work, to school or if you're just wanting something cute and natural looking. You really only need 3 eye shadows, some mascara and a good eye liner. It's quick and simple and I have it down to five minutes for my morning routine. Easy peasy!

If you're wanting to know more about the Stila Make Me Blush kit that I got for Valentine's day, check out my previous post here. I still plan on doing swatches for both lip glazes and the blush itself.

Also, for a better idea of the Make Me Up kit I purchased from Sigma Beauty, you can check out the post I created, or go directly to the Sigma Beauty site. I really love these brushes...all 12 of them! And though it was a pretty penny to spend at first, I look at it as an investment. It was worth every penny for the quality I received with these brushes. They're super soft, don't have much fallout, are amazing when applying product and they're even in a super adorable color! As previously mentioned, they come in four different colors.

Daily Skin Care Routine

Hey everyone! On the topic of skin care I was wondering what everyone else is doing/using? There's the typical three steps which include soap, astringent and moisturizer and I was wondering do you do all three? And products do you find work and don't work?

Right now I'm into Clinique products and using their three step kit which includes a gentle face wash/cleanser, an astringent and the dramatically different moisturizer.

At first I wasn't a big fan of the moisturizer. I didn't like the texture, the smell and I found it really didn't do anything for my skin. So I tossed that aside to then come across it a few months later. Deciding to try it again, I'm wondering why I didn't like it in the first place. Maybe because I'm using it more often, or because my skin is reacting differently to it, who knows. What I do know is that my face has never felt this soft before, I feel like I have baby cheeks haha!

My skin is somewhat sensitive so I do have to watch out what products I use and I'm loving the Clinique products because they're gentle on my skin, but give me the same results and some of the stronger products. I had to stop using St. Ives products, Neutrogena and even Clean & Clear because my skin was becoming too irritated which then lead to more breakouts. Which is not a good thing!!!

Aside from the daily skin care routine, sometimes I like doing face masks or finding products that can help clear the blackheads on my nose. Which are disgusting by the way! I've tried several brands and multiple products, even Biore nose strips, but they never did THAT good of a job, and for the amount I was spending it was crazy.

Watching gurus on Youtube seems to be my new addiction and one person who I love to follow is Jarmaine (jlovesmac1). She had done a skincare video herself and in it she mentioned this face mask product by Queen Helene. It's a mint julep face mask which smells super amazing! Like minty fresh bubble gum! It smells so good you want to eat it...though that'd be gross! Anyways, this face mask is kind of like a clay mask I guess you could call you. It's really thick and creamy and is nice and gentle on the skin. I wasn't expecting great results from this because face masks don't usually do as they should for me but I have to say I was really surprised with this one. For it to remove all of the blackheads on my nose with one use...WOW! For 4$ you get a pretty big tube and you don't really need much to do your entire face either. I like to either do my entire face or depending on the day I'll just put some on my nose. It's really inexpensive, works well and smells great! If you're looking for a good mask or something to remove blackheads I would definitely check it out. I found it in the states, you can find it at CVS or Walgreens. In Canada I'm not too sure where you can find it locally, but Well.ca is a Canadian based "pharmacy" type website that sells them as well. They're 6.99$ here instead of 3.99$ like in the states, but it's still not too bad either price wise. The bottle itself is a bit bigger than the St. Ives apricot scrub if you compare the two so you are getting your moneys worth for it!
